ESS | MissionOne announced the award for Clare McMahon during the National Education Association’s 96th Annual American Education Week

CHERRY HILL, NJ– ESS | MissionOne, a national leader in the field of education staffing and management for K-12 schools, announced Clare McMahon as the recipient of its annual “Impact Award” for exemplary record of service as an education paraprofessional at Glen Rock Public Schools.

McMahon, who works as an aide at the Richard E. Byrd Elementary School covering grades K-5, was recognized yesterday during the National Education Association’s (NEA) 96th Annual American Education Week.

“Clare is most certainly deserving of this award, and what better time to recognize her than during American Education Week,” said ESS | MissonOne Regional Manager, Tom Basehore. “She plays an important role in providing high-quality support services for the students and faculty at Richard E. Byrd School.  Clare provides the consistency that her students need. She never misses a day of school and she even works during the summer months to support students in an Extended School Year Program.”

McMahon has been employed by ESS | MissionOne for educational services since August 2011.

The ESS | MissionOne Impact Award is the highest honor the company bestows on an employee. It was created to recognize a professional school support staff member from the organization’s network of 57 partner school districts based on the following criteria:

  • Feedback from the school district that the staff member served, and
  • Proven commitment to going above and beyond what is expected of the support professional role

“Clare is the backbone of support for the teachers and students at our school,” said Richard E. Byrd Elementary School Principal, Dr. Linda Weber.  “She is the foundation for many of the projects that the teachers conceive of and design. They often seek her help in accomplishing an undertaking, especially when there are multiple components to an activity.”

As part of her recognition, ESS | MissionOne provided McMahon with a cash award of $500 and an additional $500 to donate to Richard E. Byrd Elementary School.  ESS | MissionOne also presented her with an oversized check and crystal apple trophy, surprising her during a school assembly.

“I really love working at the Byrd School, as it is a close knit community,” said McMahon.  “This year’s graduating class was my first class back when I started. I’m so proud to see how much they’ve grown and how far they’ve come. It’s very rewarding.”

Prior to joining the education profession with Glen Rock, McMahon worked in manufacturing for Honeywell and UPS.
